There is a common bond shared among Vets, because war is war, whether it’s Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, World War II. NO, the VFW is not just a social club for old timers to sit around and swap war stories. The VFW supports the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and their families here at home. Now that you are home from war, it's time to help support your comrades and families still in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ok swap some war stories, learn from others on how to swim the maze of veteran services and benefits, and besides maybe hearing it from the horses mouth about storming the beach at Normandy isn't just a war story. Family members of active duty service members - join us today - you are more than welcome - you are needed - support is here!
The VFW has a new generation of heroes -  Joining the VFW, attending functions and supporting each other and active duty service members. The times are changing, the membership is growing younger, but the duty remains the same. The VFW is committed to helping our troops, veterans and their families. Don't let something like Bingo night scare you away - the money goes to help our troops and their families.

Come in, bring your friends and have a great time.

As younger members and their friends and families join the VFW, new energy is injected and we can provide more help and services to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and just as importantly - their families.

So what goes on at the VFW? There are parties and responsible drinking. There is interaction between vets of all wars since World War 2. The names of the battles may have changed, but not the soldiers and Sailors. There is a common bond of experience.
